Obituary for Tayvion Laquan "Tay Man" Smith

With deep sadness and grief, we acknowledge the tragic loss of Tayvion Laquan Smith on December 13, 2019, at the tender age of eighteen. Tayvion was born on February 14, 2001 to Tameria L. Smith and Tony Boggs in Nassawadox, Virginia.

Tayvion was educated in the public schools of Accomack County and was a 2019 graduate of Arcadia High School. “Tay Man,” as he was affectionately known, was employed at Perdue Farms in Accomac, Virginia.

He was a loving son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, and friend. Those who knew him, even if just for a short time, enjoyed the shining light he brought to their lives. He touched the lives of so many, young and old. Tayvion was friendly and outgoing, and truly loved his family. He loved to play video games, hangout with family, crack jokes, and laugh. He could be found any day or night at his favorite spot, Royal Farms pump 5. His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys.

Tayvion will be missed everyday by his mother, brothers, sisters, and entire family. We know that Tayvion is being cared for by family members now, and is still loved here on Earth and will continue to be loved and cared for in Heaven. We love him and miss him so much.

Tayvion is survived by his loving mother, Tameria Smith; fathers, Jermaine Newkirk and Tony Boggs; grandparents, Evone (Keith) Duffy, Tonnie (Andrea) Northan; great-grandparents, Carolyn Northan and Clarence Payton; brothers, Taymarion Smith, Taymaine Smith, Llo’Shawn Downing, JKwon Dennis, and Carter Wilson; sisters, Taymya Smith, Angel Downs, Taliah Matthews, T’Auri Matthews, Kemoni Wharton, and Amaya Collins; special cousin, Kemyra “Money” Summerville; special friend, Amayan Ayers; special uncle, Tyvon Smith; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
