Obituary for Addie Elizabeth Greene (Boulds)

Addie Elizabeth Boulds Greene, beloved daughter of the late Ophelia George Boulds and William Boulds, was born on December 6, 1929, in Accomac, Virginia. Sorrowfully, she entered eternal heavenly rest on January 23, 2024.

Addie was educated in the public school system in Accomack County and at an early age worshipped at Macedonia AME Church. After graduating from high school, she moved to the “big apple,” New York. She married Clarence Greene, and they were blessed with two sons. In 1986, Addie became a widow, continued to live in New York until retirement; after which she relocated to Accomac and reunited with the Macedonia church family.

Over the past ten years, Addie endured various life challenges with patience and faith, yet continuously encouraged family and friends as their situations dictated. After the passing of her son in 2019, home care nurses were hired. In 2021, she became a resident in the nurse care facility in Onancock.

Addie enjoyed TV, gospel CDs, and special moments shared with nurses. She was frequently blessed when visitors came bearing “treats” which always yielded a broad smile and expressions of gratitude. Remember her smile… and faith.

Mrs. Greene was predeceased by her husband, sons Clarence and Wayne, stepdaughter Marilyn Greene Walker, siblings Mabel VanDunk, Emma (Charlie) Lilliston), Catherine (Howard) Conquest, Mary Boulds Bailey, special friends Herbert Custis, Frances Savage, and Marietta Parker.

Addie is survived by step-grandchildren, Michelle and Eddie Sledge; goddaughter, Shawanna Francis; Linda (George) Ames, Sandra Easley, Betty and Mark Savage, and additional family and friends.
