Obituary for Alice Marie Corbin (Bowen)

Alice Marie Corbin was born on September 3, 1945 in Jenkins Bridge, Virginia to the late Herbert and Mollie Bowen. She departed this life on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at her residence.

“Al,” as she was affectionately known, was educated in the public schools of Accomack County. She worked for several years at Holly Farms, now Tyson Foods, in Temperanceville, Virginia. In later years, she began working for the Accomack County Public Schools until her retirement.

At an early age, Alice accepted Christ and joined St. John Independent Church. She was a member of the Missionary Board, where she served as the president. Alice was also a Communion Steward and sang on the Senior Choir. She remained a dedicated member until her health began to decline. She loved to praise God and her favorite song was I’ve Learned How to Live Holy.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Corbin. He was the love of her life and they shared over sixty years of love. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert, Jr.; one sister; and six brothers.

Alice leaves to cherish her precious memories: her son, Victor L. Corbin of Newport News, VA; daughter, Monica Smith of Parksley, VA; four grandchildren, Garrett O. Corbin of Princess Anne, MD, Myron L. Corbin of Salisbury, MD, Asha Corbin of Kissimmee, FL, and Dominque Dorsey of Oak Hall, VA; five great-grandchildren, De’Mari Taylor, Jhi’Kese Corbin, Jhi’Nae Corbin, Ashtyn Corbin, and Averie Corbin; one brother, Maurice V. Bowen of Jenkins Bridge, VA; one sister-in-law, Tameka Mann; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Lovingly submitted,
The Family
