Obituary for Anthony Christopher "Harry" Nock

Anthony Christopher Nock, known as “Harry” to many, was born on August 10, 1969 in Melfa, Virginia to the late Lorenzo Nock Sr. and Betty Lee Savage Nock. He was the youngest of their nine children. God in infinite wisdom called him from labor to reward on August 29, 2022.

Harry was educated in the Accomack County Public School system and was a graduate of Nandua High School. Upon graduation and before his health began to decline, Harry was employed as a Produce Manager at Meatland/Food City. During the pandemic, Harry and his mom faithfully watched Sunday morning services on YouTube for Pilgrim Baptist Church in Newark, Delaware. He continued this tradition even after her passing.

Harry had a lovable personality and was truly a people person. He never hesitated to go above and beyond to encourage those around him. He was faithful in helping any and everyone in whatever way he could. He was given the nickname “The Go to Man'' because of his tenacity to always figure out or find whatever you needed. To know Harry was to know that he took pride in being devoted to his family. Although he didn’t have any children by birth, his nieces and nephews were his children and the apple of his eye. Everyone loved coming to stay at Grammy’s house and going to see “Uncle.” He never missed the opportunity to support and celebrate them at their sports games, graduations, birthday parties, and weddings.

Harry was a true jack of all trades. God gifted him with the greatest artistic abilities. He enjoyed drawing, painting, and customizing gifts for his family and friends. He never missed an opportunity to be the grillmaster for family cookouts. He was always known for his delicious deviled eggs. He was an avid fan of WWF Wrestling and the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed collecting Marvel Comic books.

Although he always faced his own health issues, you would never find him without a huge smile on his face or attitude of gratitude. He never allowed his circumstances to be a barrier when caring for his parents and showing up for his family and friends. Although he will be truly missed, his legacy will live on forever through his siblings, nieces, nephews, and the endless lives he touched.

He was predeceased by his parents, Betty and Lorenzo Nock, Sr.; aunts, Vandella Savage, Mary Chandler, Estella Rogers, and Helen Savage; and uncles, George and John Savage.

Left to cherish his many fond memories are: his siblings; Yvonne (Isaac) Ayres of Painter, VA, Margaret Dix of Newark, DE, Sylvia (Keith) Fiddemon of Accomac, VA, Denise Byrd of Parksley, VA, Lorenzo Nock Jr. of Accomac, VA, Natalie (Wayne) Brinkley of Wilmington, DE, Randolph Nock of Accomac, VA, and Deon (Anthony) Davis of Bealeton, VA; two aunts, Mae Anna Nock of Philadelphia, PA and Margaret Nock of Richmond, VA; special friends, Curt Dix, Dale Wright, Laura Broughton, and Tony Wright; his closest “homies” (dialysis partners) at Davita Kidney Center; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Lovingly submitted,
The Family
