Barbara Jean Johnson, daughter of the late Pete and Lillie Davis, was born May 28, 1953 in Horntown, Virginia. She departed this life on April 19, 2021 with her family by her side.

Barbara was educated in the public schools of Accomack County and she attended Tabernacle Baptist Church in her youth.

At a young age, she met the love of her life, Harold Johnson, and began a loving relationship that would last for fifty-eight years, thirty-five of which they shared in marriage.

Barbara was employed at Ocean Deli for fifteen years. She loved to cook and would always have food prepared at cookouts, holidays, and Sunday dinners.

When Barbara was not cooking, she was babysitting children. She was a caregiver for many years, leaving an impact on all children that she cared for. There was something about her love for children that caused them to adore her. Barbara was also a wonderful grandmother to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She continued to care for children until her health began to fail. She also enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino with Harold.

In addition to her parents and grandparents, Barbara was preceded in death by grandchildren, Brian Davis and Shyasia Davis; and several siblings.

Barbara leaves to cherish her loving memory and legacy: loving husband, Harold Johnson of Atlantic, VA; five children, Lamont (Sherry) Davis of Greenbackville, VA, Harold Davis (Marcy) of Allenhurst, GA, Angel (Steve) Giddens of Atlantic, VA, Larry (LaShauna) Davis of Pocomoke City, MD, and Laversa Thomas of Temple, TX; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Felara Hickman, Betty Davis, both of Horntown, VA, Addie (Rob) Revells of Temperanceville, VA, Brenda (James) Pyron of New Church, VA, Jeanette (Marvin) Smith of Rochester, NY, Genneice Cropper, Roy Cropper, both of Salisbury, MD, Shawn Cropper of Jarratt, VA, Henrick Cropper of Pocomoke City, MD, Robert Handy (Marian) of Baltimore, MD, Helen Cropper of Chincoteague, VA, Midge Dickerson, Neice Ward, both of Pocomoke City, MD, Yvonne Ward of Atlantic, VA, Fontina Victor of Princess Anne, MD, and Marietta Ward of Salisbury, MD; aunts, Roxie (Calvin) Morris of New Church, VA, Annie Mae Jenkins of Seaford, DE, and Hazel (Earl) Marshall of Horntown, VA; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Alvin) Thomas of Atlantic, VA and Lydia McCray of Georgetown, DE; brother-in-law, Harvey Johnson of Dover, DE; caring friend, Erica Connor; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
