Barbara Jean Johnson, daughter of the late Pete and Lillie Davis, was born May 28, 1953 in Horntown, Virginia. She departed this life on April 19, 2021 with her family by her side.
Barbara was educated in the public schools of Accomack County and she attended Tabernacle Baptist Church in her youth.
At a young age, she met the love of her life, Harold Johnson, and began a loving relationship that would last for fifty-eight years, thirty-five of which they shared in marriage.
Barbara was employed at Ocean Deli for fifteen years. She loved to cook and would always have food prepared at cookouts, holidays, and Sunday dinners.
When Barbara was not cooking, she was babysitting children. She was a caregiver for many years, leaving an impact on all children that she cared for. There was something about her love for children that caused them to adore her. Barbara was also a wonderful grandmother to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She continued to care for children until her health began to fail. She also enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino with Harold.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, Barbara was preceded in death by grandchildren, Brian Davis and Shyasia Davis; and several siblings.
