Obituary for Barry Floyd Marshall

Barry Floyd Marshall, beloved son of the late Floyd Roosevelt Marshall and Lillie Beatrice Marshall, was born on July 1, 1951 in Wattsville, Virginia. He departed this life on February 1, 2022 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Maryland.

Barry was educated in the public schools of Accomack County and a 1969 graduate of Mary N. Smith High School. Upon his graduation, he entered the workforce. Barry became the owner and operator of Barry F. Marshall Trucking Service. He dedicated over forty years to this career.

Barry was married to Helen Dianette Marshall for forty-eight years. Their union was blessed with two daughters. Barry loved his family and his trucks. He was always willing to help those in need. Barry was a longtime supporter of Friendship United Methodist Church, now New Beginnings United Methodist Church in Wattsville, Virginia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Theodore and Minnie Marshall; maternal grandparents, Clarence and Bessie Conquest; and special friend, Terry Fisher.

Barry leaves to cherish his loving memory his loving wife of forty-eight years, Helen Dianette Marshall; twin daughters, Keisha (James) Hill and Kenya (Byron) Alexander; one stepson, Andre Collins, Sr.; three grandchildren, Treshaun Jermaine Marshall, Kyron Nigel Alexander, and Mya Lily Marshall; two great-grandchildren, Cree Savoi Holden and Tremir Lee Marshall; three brothers, Calvin Edward Marshall, Darrell Leon Marshall, and Donald Brucie Marshall; five nieces, Cha-Tanya, Kiesha, Donielle, Karen, and Dominique; two nephews, Donald B. Marshall, Jr. And Calvin E. Marshall, Jr.; gentlemen who were like his sons, Bryant Planter, Jamel Strand, Rodney Tyrone Henderson “Dog,” Devaron Jackson, and Andre Collins, Jr. “Fatty”; special friends, Tinkard Ballard, Charlie (Carolyn) Grisby, and Andre Byrd; and a host of other relatives and friends.
