Obituary for Bessie Magdalene Wilson (Drummond)
Bessie Magdalene Drummond Wilson, beloved daughter of Mary D. Boggs and the late Quinton L. Strand, was born on December 21, 1959 in Onancock, Virginia. She departed this life on April 25, 2022 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, Virginia.
Bessie was educated in the public schools of Accomack County. She entered the workforce in the poultry industry, working for both Perdue Farms and Tyson Foods over the years. At an early age, Bessie attended St. John Baptist Church. In later years, she joined Metropolitan United Methodist Church.
In her spare time, Bessie enjoyed reading her Bible, singing, playing cards, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joyce P. Bunting, Elizabeth Strand, Fred Lewis, and Abel Strand; mother-in-law, Delores Wilson; and brother-in-law, Richard Johnson, Jr.
Bessie leaves to cherish her loving memories her mother, Mary D. Boggs; stepmother, Martha Allen; daughter, Keisha Wilson; two grandchildren, La’Mijah and Ny’Asia; son-in-law, Preston Kellam, Jr.; three brothers, Rickey (Chico) Drummond, Quenton (Paula) Drummond, and Alphonso Drummond; six sisters, Joyce Johnson, Lashaun Nock, Lashawn Nock, Elizabeth Bunting, Abigail Allen, and Allison Brown; five nieces; twelve nephews; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
