Obituary for Calvin Thomas "Bobby/Buck" Strand
Calvin Thomas Strand, the beloved son of the late Herman Lee Strand and Margaret Emma Strand, was born on November 5, 1946 in Accomac, Virginia. He was called by God to eternal rest on March 31, 2021 at Shore Health & Rehabilitation Center, Parksley, Virginia.
Calvin was educated in the Accomack County Public School system and was a 1965 graduate of Mary N. Smith High School.
Calvin liked watching sports and motorsports. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Lakers. He also loved to ride his motorcycle until his health failed.
On June 26, 1976, he married the love of his life, Jo Ann Bailey and they shared forty-two years of marriage until her passing in 2018.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by Margaret B. Godwin, James E. Strand, Herman L. Strand, Jr., and Robert L. Godwin.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Kimberly Joynes of Pocomoke City, MD; granddaughter, Keshell Bryant of Pocomoke City, MD; stepdaughter, Lita B. Northan of Tasley, VA; one great-grandson, Zion Copes of Pocomoke City, MD; step-grandchildren, Cedric Northan and Christopher Bailey both of Tasley, VA; sisters, Lula M. Wharton of Parksley, VA and Barbara A. Strand of Tasley, VA; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Strand of Accomac, VA and Geneva B. Wilson of Capitol Heights, MD; Gordon “Pumpkin” Wilson of Capitol Heights was like his own; aunts, Otis Strand of Greenbush, VA and Helen Bundick of Keller, VA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
