Obituary for Carol-Ann Verstegen (Fariello)

Carol-Ann Verstegen, beloved wife of the late Bruce Verstegen, was born on May 28, 1946 in Flushing, New York. She departed this life on March 24, 2023 at her residence in Greenbackville, Virginia.

In 1964, Carol graduated from Red Bank Regional High School. Later in life, she attended Brookdale Community College, this prepared her for career at EBSCO.

Carol was passionate about community service. She was a member of the Tinton Falls First Aid Ladies Auxiliary CERT and leader of the Brownies and Girl Scouts Troop 693. She was also a member and queen of the Red Hat Society.

In her leisure, Carol enjoyed making ceramics, going to the beach, swimming, playing cards, playing golf, bowling, cooking, and baking. She was also a member of St. Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church in Pocomoke, Maryland.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Dominic and Patricia Fariello; her husband of fifty-five years, Bruce Verstegen; and brother, Donald Fariello.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: daughters, Michelle, Deborah, and Jennifer; grandchildren, Lauren and Alex; siblings, Mary Grace and Michael; lifelong friends, Leigh and Patricia Coan; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
