Obituary for Charlie Edward "Ed" Savage

Charles Edward Savage, affectionately known as “Ed,” was the beloved son of the late Sidney and Jane Savage, Sr. He was born on December 25, 1938, in Accomack County, Virginia. He entered quietly into eternal rest on March 7, 2022 at the Nassawadox Rehabilitation Center in Nassawadox, Virginia.

Ed received his education in the Accomack County Public Schools. He was a school bus driver for over 20 years and received the “Driver of the Year” award on multiple occasions. Ed later obtained his CDL license and was a driver for Davis Disposal for several years. He spent the majority of his life as a farmer, growing crops, and managing farmland.

Ed had a passion for rabbit and deer hunting. He took great pride in the sport. He even named his hunting dogs after one of his favorite TV show characters, Dallas. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a part of the Eagle Rider Motorcycle Group for several years.

Ed had an infectious smile and was loved by many. His regular seasonal supply of watermelons and cantaloupes will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his siblings, Catherine Morris, Sidney Savage, Florine Robinson, Odessa Delk, Annie Mae John, Elizabeth Adams, and Clifton Savage.

Ed leaves to cherish his memories his children, Tomeka Hill-Brown (Derrick) of VA, Latasha Harris of DE, Kesha Hill-Foster (Larry) of MD, Faith Custis of VA, Lydia (Vicky) Betz (Shannon) of NC, and Larry Parker (Bessie) TX; grandchildren, Jayda Harris-Scott, Tiffany Harris-Scott, Whitney Custis, Damir Brown, Kaleb Brown, Kayla Brown, Nicholas “Nick” Byrd, Markus “Mark” Johnson, Calvin Byrd, Victor Brown, Larry Parker, Jr., Tremaine Parker, and Yolanda Parker; siblings, Bernice Parker “Chummy” of Painter, VA, Louise Alexander, and Nettie Roberson, both of Tuckahoe, NY; special friends, Margaret Hatney, the Sterling family and the Henderson family; a special niece, Cathy Harmon who stayed close and provided support to him from the onset of his illness; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Lovingly submitted,
