Dallas Mayo was born on April 7, 1942 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to the late Bishop Willis Frazier and Juanita Singletary Frazier. On March 4, 2022, she was called home to be with the Lord at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, Virginia.
“Dally,” as she was affectionately known, was educated in the public schools of Elizabeth, New Jersey. In 1960, she graduated from Battin High School.
On April 7, 1969, Dally married John D. Mayo, thus, they shared fifty-two years of love. During this time, they raised Leon Burton as their son. She was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Temperanceville, Virginia. Dally loved to pray and listen to Gospel music. Each day she spent lots of time studying the Word using audio tapes.
In addition to her parents, Dally was preceded in death by her siblings, Bill Frazier, Willis Frazier, Jr., Nelson “Buster” Frazier, Cleo Frazier, Georgia Mae Frazier, Marilyn Frazier, Marie Frazier, and Jessie Hodge.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her husband, John D. Mayo; son, Leon Burton; sister, Juanita Andrews; dear friend who was like a sister, Marilyn Fullman; sister-in-law, Ruth Clemmins; brother-in-law, Mack Mayo; her devoted caregivers, Christine Miller, Dexter Miller, Joyce Watson, Brenda Gandy, her goddaughter, Jackie Douglas, and Daniel Douglas; close friend, Deloris Bailey; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Sorrowfully submitted,
The Family
