Obituary for Delbert Eugene "Del" Dickerson
Delbert Eugene Dickerson of New Church, Virginia, was called home on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at his residence. He was born on October 15, 1961 to the late Walter George Dickerson, Sr. and Lennie Frances Dickerson.
Delbert, affectionately known as “Del,” was a native of Accomack County, and was educated in its public schools. He was employed at Perdue Farms in Accomac, Virginia. He was also a caregiver for his mother until she passed in 2020.
In addition to his parents, Delbert was preceded in death by his brothers, Eric, Derrick, and Leslie Dickerson; and sister, Melody Goodwine Waters.
Delbert leaves to cherish his memories: sister, Lorrie “Cookie” Dickerson of New Church, VA; brother, Walter G. (Angela) Dickerson, Jr.; godsister, Angela Brown (James) Collins; three nieces, Kimiko Dickerson, Latasha Dickerson, and Christie Goodwine; three nephews, Jermaine (Ashley) Schoolfield, Lowrence ”Roncy” Rue, and Arron Gillard; five uncles, Walter Press, Andrew Press, Calvin Press, James Lankford, and Ervin Austin; five aunts, Florence Pitts, Mary Anne (Robert) Fisher, Hazel (Earl) Marshall, Beulah Wallop, and Ester Dickerson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
