Obituary for Dellas "Dal or Money Money" Johnson

Dallis Johnson, affectionately known as “Dal,” son of the late Charles Christopher and Doris Mae Johnson was born on September 18, 1955 in Horntown, Virginia. He departed this earthly world to be with our Lord and Savior on September 27, 2021.

Dal received his education in the Accomack County Public School System and graduated from Chincoteague High School.

Dal was a hard worker and very loyal employee of Don’s Seafood, Chincoteague, Virginia for over thirty years. Knowing how much he was dedicated and loved his job, he was also a lover of football where he was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan. Dal loved cowboy movies and playing cards. Despite the love for these things, none of them was more valuable than the love for his family.

Dal was preceded in death by his father, Charles Christopher; mother, Doris Mae Johnson; daughter, Leslie Johnson; sisters, Jeanette, Catherine, and Phyllis Johnson; and brothers, Ellis and Beverly Christopher.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his beloved wife, Carolyn Handy Johnson, whom he shared forty-five years of love with; four children, Kenisha Burton (Tyrone), Torrance Handy (Renita), Tristan Handy (Samantha), and Sherrick Handy; seven grandchildren, whom he would give his last and loved more than anything, Jakeil Handy, Tavare’ Handy, Imani Banks, Kenryan Banks, Bailey Handy, Zayne Handy, and Jaxon Handy; sisters, Brenda Handy, Winette Johnson, and Phillipa Milbourne; brothers, Norman Johnson (Ernestine), Albert Johnson, Ricky Johnson (Mary), Dalton Christopher (Hallie), Wardell Christopher (Regina), and Lenny Christopher; special niece, Yvonne Parker (Edward); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Lovingly and sorrowfully submitted,
The Family
