Obituary for Delores Bailey Abbott

Delores Bailey Abbott, beloved daughter of the late Chester Bailey and Sarah Nedab, was born on February 28, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. She peacefully departed this life on January 1, 2021 at her residence in Parksley, Virginia.

Delores was educated in the Accomack County Public Schools. She was a graduate of Mary N. Smith High School. She worked at Tyson Foods for several years until, she was injured.

Delores attended First Baptist Church of Mappsville, Virginia. She served her church as a choir member and loved attending services and singing joyfully in the choir.

In Delores spare time, she enjoyed completing puzzles, playing dominos, watching “The Parkers” and “Everybody Hates Chris,” and she would quickly throw you out the room to watch it without interruption. She loved to cook and her husband loved to eat, especially, potato salad and fried oysters.

In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by her brother, William Bailey.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Thomas Lee Abbott; three children, Dom Bailey, Craig Bailey, and Myron Bailey; five grandchildren, Dontrell Bailey, Charmaine Smith, Destiny Drummond, Dequan Roses, and Daphne McClease; five great-grandchildren; three step-children, Leatha Abbott, Linda Abbott, and Carolyn Abbott; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
