Eva Wessells Hall, the daughter of the late Thomas and Lucy Wessells, was born July 11, 1931, in Parksley, Virginia.

Eva gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined Metompkin Baptist Church. She sang on the Willing Workers Choir, served on the Usher Board, and was a Sunday school teacher.

In 1948, she graduated from Mary N. Smith High School. After graduation, she attended a beautician class taught by Madame Mitchell at Metompkin Baptist Church. Eva later attended the Wilkins School under the tutelage of Dorothy Clark.

In August 1955, Eva was united in holy matrimony to the late George Hall and to this union three children were born.

Known to be handy with a sewing machine, she was also a seamstress. On weekends, you could find Eva “doing hair in her shop,” and then later in the utility room of the house.

In 1994, Eva retired from Tyson Foods, formerly Holly Farms, in Temperanceville, where she worked for twenty-four years. During this time, she was also a part-time inspector at Perdue Farms in Accomac.

After a lengthy illness, on the morning of October 16, 2018, Eva was called to eternal rest.

Left to mourn her passing are: three children, Devery Hall of Salisbury, MD, Eric Hall of Houston, TX, and Vanessa (Thomas) Spinner of Floral Park, NY; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
