Obituary for Franklin Josephis "Butch" Trader

Franklin Josephis Trader, son of the late Robert and Pennie Tilett Trader, was born on October 27, 1951 in Camden, North Carolina. On May 20, 2021, the angels stopped by Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, Virginia and carried him from labor to reward.

“Butch,” as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Accomack County, Virginia. He worked in many industries over the years, but found his true passion in truck driving. He began his career in trucking at Lance Fisher Trucking, Inc. in Saxis, Virginia. Butch was most recently employed by K & J Trucking until his health began to fail. He dedicated over fifty years to the trucking industry.

In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Arthur, and Leroy Trader; three sisters, Bernice Stanley, Stella Holden, and Mary Lee Maddox; and two grandchildren, Evrin Holden and Ranquon Bailey.

Butch leaves to cherish fond memories: his wife, Delia Trader of Pocomoke, MD; companion of fourteen years, Sibrina Ceasar and their pet, Poofer of Painter, VA; five daughters, Gwendolyn (Darryl) Talbert, Stacey (Timothy) Giddens, both of Pocomoke, MD, Erica Holden of Princess Anne, MD, Valerie Taylor of Horntown, VA, and Leslie Holden of Greensboro, NC; two sons, Timothy Holden of Greensboro, NC and Larry Johnson, whom he raised, of New Orleans, LA; one sister, Gladys (Thomas) Collins of Horntown, VA; one brother, William (Marie) Trader of Horntown, VA; five brothers-in-law, Joseph (Kristie) Byrd of Painter, VA, Tyrone (Sharonda) Smith of New Church, VA, Tommy Smith of Keller, VA, William Smith of Melfa, VA, and Richard (Sharon) Holden of Jenkins Bridge, VA; three very special friends, Joseph Rice, Calvin Morris, and William Corbin; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
