Obituary for Frederick Dewitt "Fred" Young
Frederick Dewitt Young, beloved son of the late Lorenzo Young, Jr. and Orella Mae Baynard, was born on October 28, 1952 in Sussex County, Delaware. He transitioned from this life on March 31, 2021 at his residence.
Frederick, affectionately called “Fred” by family and friends, was educated in the Delaware Public School system. He was a forklift operator for Perdue Farms in Accomac, Virginia.
Fred enjoyed listening to hymns, watching church services and sports, feeding his dogs, and playing with his grandchildren.
Later in life, he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and joined New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Exmore, Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Gwen Young and Bridgett Sauls; and brother, Milton Young.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Rebecca Young; children, Demetrius A. Young, Tredella (Markees) Smith, Fred Young, Jr., Dallas Rogers, Jr., and Towanda (James) Little; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters, Sadie Labeet of Lakewood, NJ, Annette Durham of Baltimore, MD, Hilda Northan, Mary Reid, and Mable Jones all of DE; sisters-in-law, Peggy (Samuel) Gray, Shirley (Donald) Blake, Mable Wise, Barbara (Ronnie) Smith, and Brenda (Donnell) Peters; brothers-in-law, Daniel (Debra) Harmon, William (Vera) Harmon, and Donald Harmon; best friend, Pastor Morris Randall; and a host of other relatives and friends.
