Obituary for Henry Lee Teague

Henry Lee Teague departed this life on June 5, 2023 at the Roudebush Veterans’ Administration Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on October 28, 1952 in Keller, Virginia to the late Norman and Mary Teague.

Henry was educated in the public schools of Accomack County and was a graduate of Central High School. Upon graduation, he entered the United States Army where he served for over twenty-two years before his retirement. Following his retirement, Henry felt the need to stay busy. He gained employment at an apartment complex in Atlanta, Georgia as the manager and maintenance technician. Later, he ventured into the truck industry with Total Trucking Company. Henry enjoyed being on the road, delivering merchandise to different states, and meeting and talking with other drivers at various terminals. In his leisure, he loved vacationing with his family, attending the horse and dog races, and occasionally visiting the casino.

In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his brothers, Norman Teague, Jr., Calvin Teague, James Teague, and Charles Teague.

He leaves to cherish his memories: one son, Albert Bunting of Wintersville, NC; one daughter, Carolyn Bunting of Newport News, VA; one stepdaughter, Michelle Childs of Columbia, GA; twelve grandchildren, Triquis Bunting, Jaimais Bunting, both of NC, Markel Chisum of Keller, VA, Jaheim Bunting, Karheem Bunting, Zion Bunting, Harmony Bunting, all of NC, Shaniqua Bunting of Richmond, VA, Kaniyah Bunting, and Jakina Bunting, both of Newport News, VA; two great-grandchildren, Zhari Bunting of Richmond, VA and Kevin Bunting of Newport News, VA; one sister, Mary (James) Mills of Norfolk, VA; one brother, William (Phyllis) Wessells of Virginia Beach, VA; four nephews, Gregory (Yvette) Johnson of NJ, Sammie (Joyce) Harmon of Keller, VA, Kevin Mills, and Christopher Mills, both of Norfolk, VA; four nieces, Gwendolyn Brooks, Jamilah Mills-Jefferson, both of Norfolk, VA, Trina Wessells of Virginia Beach, VA, and Sharon Banks of Salisbury, MD; significant other, Agnes Hammond of Indianapolis, IN; lifelong devoted friend, Audrey Fisher of CA; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
