Obituary for Jarvis Shawn "Lump" Johnson

Jarvis Shawn Johnson, son of James Johnson and the late Joann Johnson, was born in Makemie Park, Virginia on July 27, 1970. He departed this life on January 30, 2022 at his residence in Hampton, Virginia.

Jarvis received his education in the Accomack County Public Schools. He was a 1988 graduate of Arcadia High School. At an early age, Jarvis gave his life to Christ and attended St. John Independent Church in Messongo, Virginia.

“Lump” or “Heavy D,” as he was affectionately known, was a jovial person. He made sure anyone who came in contact with him shared a laugh. Jarvis truly loved his family unconditionally and they loved him equally. One of his favorite pastimes was participating in cooking challenges on Facebook with Anthony and Jerron Corbin.

Jarvis was preceded in death by his mother, Joann Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories: his father, James Johnson; children, Jaleesa Mills, Aliyah Mills, Javonta Mills, all of Temperanceville, VA, Devon Wallop, Dynasty Wallop, both of Horntown, VA, Jaheim Broughton of Melfa, VA, Kaleb Johnson, Keegan Johnson, and Kiley Johnson, all of Hampton, VA; five grandchildren whom he adored; two sisters, Roxanne (Dallas) Johnson and Telia (Ronnie) Mills; two brothers, Jaron (Tinesha) Johnson and Harold E. (Laurine) White, Sr.; special friend, LaToya Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Sorrowfully submitted,
The Family
