Obituary for Jay'Von Malik "Boogie or Apple" Bailey

Jay’von Malik “Boogie” or “Apple” Bailey, beloved son of Naomi Campbell and William Bailey, was born on Wednesday, April 26, 2003, in Parksley, Virginia on the ambulance in route to the hospital. He departed this life on Monday, January 9, 2023.

Jay’von attended and was educated in the Accomack County School System. He was employed briefly at Food Lion in Oak Hall. He loved music and was an inspiring musician. Music was the epitome of peace in Jay’von’s life. He would go in the studio on some weekends making music and would share his music videos with great pride. He was full of jokes, constantly being humorous and trying to make others laugh. Jay’von loved shopping to get new outfits and loved himself a fresh pair of sneakers (especially Jordans).

Jay’von enjoyed spending time with family and his newly born daughter. He would always brag about how much she looked like him. Jay’von often found a safe place in the arms of his special friend, his daughter’s mother. When he wasn’t spending time with family, Jay’von enjoyed playing basketball with his friends. It also gave him joy to give to the homeless. His favorite sayings were, “Man, I am hungry” and “I love you 5L” (meaning he loves you more than forever).

Jay’von was preceded in death by his grandmother, Annie Miller; grandfather, Carlton Brown; great-grandmothers, Mattie Campbell Robinson and Frances Ann Bailey; great-grandfather, Peter Bailey; and aunt, Cynthia O’Conner.
Jay’von leaves to cherish his loving memory; his daughter, Layla Marshall; mother, Naomi Campbell; father, William Bailey; bonus dad, Darold Tull; grandparents, William Collins (Francine) and Charles Miller; four brothers, Darrico Planter, Ja’Quan Bailey, Jayden Henderson, and bonus brother, Malachi Tull; four sisters, Asia Tull, Alana Bailey, Jayniah Bailey, and Jaynae Bailey; one niece, Aylin Allen; a special friend, Lauryn Marshall; aunts and uncles, all whom he loved; other relatives and fond friends.

Lovingly and sorrowfully submitted,
The Family
