Obituary for Joseph Kirby "Joe" Holden
Joseph Kirby Holden, the beloved son of the late Dorsey Holden and Viola Sheppard Holden, was born on August 17, 1945 in New York. He departed this life on November 13, 2022 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Maryland.
“Joe,” as he was affectionately known, was educated in the public schools of Accomack County. He entered the workforce at an early age. Over the years, he worked for Perdue Farms and in the local oyster houses.
Joe was married to the late Linda Dorsey until her passing in 2014. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his son, Coston Taylor; and siblings, Paul, David, Shirley, John, and Carrie.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories his five children, Shonya Holden (Greg), Joseph (Carla) Holden, Latoya (Tremaine) Joynes, Maurice Holden, and Edward Taylor; seven grandchildren, Kenyon Holden, Keshona Holden, Davieon Bunting, Markel Miller, Jonathan Wilson, Montreal Wilson, and Johniqua Wilson; siblings, Lester (Diane) Holden, Elizabeth (Ralph) Tull, Effie Mitchell, Faye (Oskie) Frazier, and Randall (Vickie) Holden; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Richard) Holden, Sandra (Earnest) Chandler, Ruthie (Dalton) Entzminger, and Patricia (Woody) Harris; brothers-in-law, Graylin Dorsey, Johnny Dorsey, and Henry Dorsey; special friend, Essie Deal; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
