Obituary for Keith Johnson

Keith Johnson, beloved son of the late Calvin Johnson, Sr. and Lucille Tann Johnson, was born on November 19, 1963. He quietly departed this life on January 20, 2021, at Beebe Health Center in Lewes, Delaware.

Keith was educated in the Accomack County School system and graduated from Arcadia High School in 1983. Following graduation, Keith enlisted in the United States Army and completed basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He attained the rank of Sargent First Class, proudly serving eleven years of active duty in the United States Army.

SFC Keith Johnson was meticulous and a neat dresser with his military and personal attire. Keith was well- known for being a kind hearted and a respected person with a big smile. He was pensive yet observant, soft spoken, yet expressive, and strong yet gentle. He enjoyed visits with his family, watching sports, and listening to music. Keith often attributed these qualities to his Christian upbringing at Dea’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Horntown, Virginia.

Keith’s military career was eclipsed by a debilitating vehicle accident which resulted in him receiving an honorable discharge under medical conditions. He took on this challenge with great tenacity and resilience. After experiencing complications from COVID-19, he was called home from the battlefield to be with the Lord.

In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin Johnson, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Ruth Valentine Tann and Charles Tann; paternal grandparents, Clara Pitts Marshall and Barnes Johnson; aunt, Pauline White; and uncle, Winfield Johnson, Sr.
