Obituary for Keva Teresa "Punch" Handy

Keva Teresa “Punch” Handy was born on December 3, 1969 to Victoria Handy and Lee McLaughlin in Salisbury, Maryland. She was called home to be with the Lord on March 5, 2023 at her home in Wattsville, Virginia.

Punch was educated in the Accomack County Public Schools. She obtained her high school diploma from Arcadia High School in 1990. Punch was a long-time employee of Perdue Farms in Accomac, Virginia, where she was employed until her passing. She worshipped at Macedonia Baptist Church, where she was affiliated until her death.

Punch was preceded in death by her parents, Victoria Handy Dickerson and Lee Andrew McLaughlin.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Kiarra (Jeffrey) Clark of Newport News, VA and Kemiya Fosque (Anthony Crossan) of Wattsville, VA; grandsons who were her pride and joy, Kylin Townsend and Noah Clark, both of Newport News, VA; sister, Alisa (Kirk) Harmon of Mappsville, VA; brother, Sherman Handy of Gargatha, VA; nephew, Kirk Harmon, Jr. of Mappsville, VA; grandmother, Oletha Bloxom of Delmar, DE; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

If you knew Punch, then you knew she never called people by their actual names. She had a nickname for everyone, especially her favorite people; “Bully” Damesha Hickman, her bonus daughter; her “Son,” Randolph Nock; her “Sista,” Lashonda Custis; and her “Mama,” Evelyn Parker.

Keva was the most outspoken, confident, and realest person that graced this Earth. She was thoughtful, dedicated, and honest everyday of her life. In a world where we could be anything, Punch was always unapologetically true to herself. She did it her way, for her that was the only way. She will be deeply missed. Punch was truly one of a kind!

Sorrowfully submitted,
The Family
