Leaner Mae Butler Fletcher, daughter of the late Vernon Satchell and Gertrude Butler, was born on September 23, 1962 in Savageville, Virginia. She departed this life on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at her residence in Temperanceville, Virginia.
“Annie,” as she was affectionately known by family, was educated in the public schools of Accomack County and was a graduate of Onancock High School. She was employed at Perdue Farms, Dollar General, and lastly Walmart, until her health began to fail.
Annie was a member of New Beginnings United Methodist Church in Wattsville, Virginia. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and remained faithful to Him until the end. She lived the life she talked about and was never ashamed to share God’s goodness with others.
On February 12, 1999, she married the love of her life, William Fletcher, who affectionately called her “Boo.” They shared nineteen years of blissful marriage.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Madison Butler.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her husband, William Fletcher; one stepdaughter, Ashley (Kentrelle) Walker; two step-granddaughters, Ke’Niyah and Devriyana; four sisters, Rose (Floyd) Strand, Eva (William) Veney, Darlene Butler, and Beulah Butler; three brothers, Vernon (Lillian) Butler, Leon Butler, and James Butler; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gardner (Linda) Tull, Winfred L.
