Leon Gregory White, beloved son of Virginia and the late George E. White, was born March 24, 1950 in Parksley “Whitesville,” Virginia. He answered God’s call to come home on November 2, 2018.
Greg, as he was affectionately known, was educated in the Accomack County School System and was a graduate of Mary N. Smith High School. Shortly after graduation he moved to Philadelphia, where he spent most of his adult life. While in Philadelphia he held many jobs, to include car salesman, brick mason, and groundsman at some of the sports stadiums.
At an early age Gregory joined Adams United Methodist Church. Later in life he returned to his hometown of Whitesville and was known for helping out around the church.
Greg was preceded in death by his sisters, Roberta and Lillie White.
He is survived by: a daughter, Kratrina Richardson of Palm Beach, FL; two sons, Tarez and Levar Richardson of Philadelphia, PA; four grandchildren Kaytin-Alexis, De-Viyon, both of West Palm Beach, FL, Tarez, Jr, and Taneya, both of Philadelphia, PA; his mother, Virginia L. White of Jacksonville, NC; two sisters, Beverly Downing of Parksley, VA and Wanda Watson of Jacksonville, NC; two brothers, George “Pig” White of Lakewood, NJ and Quinten White of Pittsville, MD; three aunts, Margaret Watson of Chesapeake, VA, Loretta White of Onancock, VA, and Lenora Johnson of Snow Hill, MD; and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Greg was blessed with some faithful friends and cousins whom were like brothers to him: Michael “Mike Duck” White, Miles White, John Wilson, and Warren Mason.
