Obituary for Malissa Kimberly "Missy" Ames

Malissa Kimberly Ames was born on October 19, 1966 in Savageville, Virginia to the late Fernanzer Ames, Sr. and Catherine Bailey Ames. She departed this life on September 18, 2022 at Shore Health and Rehab Center in Parksley, Virginia.

“Missy,” as she was affectionately known, was educated in the public schools of Accomack County. She joined the workforce at an early age. Missy worked for Eastern Shore Seafood for several years. In later years, she worked in housekeeping at Heritage Hall.

One of Missy’s favorite pastimes was going to Wal-Mart every day. Her great joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to prepare Sunday dinner for her family and friends. They loved her famous sweet and sour meatballs and hot rice.

In addition to her parents, Missy was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Bra’Monie Ames and her aunt, Doretha Harmon.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her two sons, Deshawn Ames (KeiAna) and Bronta’ Ames, Sr.; six grandchildren, Markiece Harmon, Markwain Harmon, KeiNylah Harmon, Wyneek Savage, Bronta’ Ames, Jr., and Bre’Nasia Ames; two sisters, Catherine Bailey and Barbara Dickerson; four brothers, Levon Ames, Fernanzer Ames, Jr. (Linda), Edward Ames, and Sheffield Ames; significant other, Broderick Hargis; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Sorrowfully submitted,
The Family
