Margaret Bunting Matthews received her wings on March 25, 2022 at Shore Health & Rehab Center in Parksley, Virginia. She was the beloved daughter of the late Arthur Duncan, Sr. and Beulah Duncan. Margaret was born on December 13, 1924 in Keller, Virginia.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age. Throughout her life, Margaret read the Bible daily and continued to study the Bible until her passing. She was a member of the United Christian Church in Parksley, Virginia for many years.
Margaret’s greatest joy was her family. She developed this love from the bond she shared with her mother. Her mother’s guidance made her the loving and devoted mother she was to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great, great-grandchildren. Margaret provided each of them with love, guidance, and moral support.
Margaret often shared that her constant prayer was to see all of her children grown and self-sufficient. God blessed her with 97 years of life and answered her prayer and allowed her to see each of them become senior citizens. Margaret was overjoyed whenever she had the opportunity to spend time with her family. Her presence will be greatly missed, but her love and legacy will forever be a source of strength and comfort for all who encountered her.
In her leisure, she enjoyed watching the daily soap operas, reading magazines, and most importantly, talking to her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Mere words cannot express the love and respect they had for Margaret.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her children, Elizabeth Fitchett, Albert Bunting, Sr., Dorothy Custis, Robert Bunting, Sr., Mary Mills, and Calvin Bunting, Sr.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Sorrowfully submitted,
The Family
