Marlene Louise Godwin was born November 20, 1958 in Salisbury, Maryland, to the late James and Louveller Godwin. She departed this life on October 10, 2018 at her home with her sister by her side.

Marlene gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined Jerusalem Baptist Church. She was employed at Tyson Foods for over thirty-four years, until her health began to fail.

Marlene was known for her infectious smile and ability to always keep something going to make you laugh. She was a die-heart Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She even had a message on her phone that said, “If you’re not a Steelers’ fan, I don’t want to hear it.”

She was preceded in death by her daughter, a brother, mother and father, and grandparents.

Fond and loving memories of her life will always be cherished by: her sisters, Mary Holden of Temperanceville, VA and Vanessa Jackson of NJ; her brothers, Norris Godwin (Marie) of Chandler, AZ, Kennie Godwin (Louveller) of Temperanceville, VA, Calvin Godwin (Gwen) of New Church, VA, James Godwin of MA, and William Shrieves (Sue) of NJ; aunts, Venera Godwin, Lillie Turner (Raymond), Larue Godwin, Dordean Schoolfield, and Karen Bowen; uncles, Martin Godwin, Edward Godwin, and Toby Williams (Ovie); devoted friends, Lula Dickerson, Linda Evans, and Geraldine Cox; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
