Obituary for Matthew Thomas "Mack" Nock

Matthew Thomas Nock, the youngest child of Will E. and Mammie Baker Nock, departed this life on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, Virginia. He was born on January 22,1930 in Bloxom, Virginia.

Matthew was married to the late Elsie Collins Nock and from this union was born one daughter, Virginia Lee Nock and four sons, Robert, Ronald, Daniel, and Larry Nock. After the demise of Elsie, he married the late Jean Anne Nock and from this union was born one son, Gregory Kevin Nock.

Matthew was educated in the Accomack County school system. Early in life, he was a longtime barber and farmer in the area. He also worked several years for the Plywood Plant in Pocomoke City, Maryland. Later, he retired as a grounds maintenance worker from NASA Wallops Flight Facility in Wallops Island, Virginia.

Matthew was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie, his second wife, Jean Anne, his daughter, Virginia Lee Nock, and a son, Larry Nock. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Lee Corbin, brothers, William Floyd and Howard Esley, cousin, Cecil Nock, and a dear friend, Walley Savage.

Matthew leaves to cherish his memories, four sons, Robert (Yvonne) Nock of Parksley, VA, Ronald (Dawn) Nock of Salisbury, MD, Daniel (Joanna) Nock, Sr. of Greenbush, VA, and Gregory Kevin Nock of Pungoteague, VA; four grandchildren, Daniel (Deborah) Nock, Jr., Cheketa Nock, Tracey Nock, and Jessica Mary Huffman; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.
