Perry Buckner is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Michael McGarrity; daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Thomas Misiaszek; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Dina Buckner; step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Berta and Rudy Nesbitt. Also, his sister Theresa Preston; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Velma Buckner and their children; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Bart Cooper; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Buckner and his second wife, Lois Jackson-Buckner; mother, Susie Johnson-Buckner, father, Oscar Buckner, brother and sister-in-law, Oscar and Maxine Buckner; sister, Mildred Buckner, and brother-in-law, Joseph Preston, Sr.

Perry served in the Army during WWII and in the Korean Conflict. He was also a City of Pittsburgh Firefighter and a member of the Fraternal Order of Masons. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Perry was well-travelled, having spent time in Japan, while in the military, and later traveling to the Artic. He actually drank water from a glacier while in the Artic, and later sailed through the Panama Canal. His travels took him to a Dude Ranch in New York and from there to a hike through the Grand Canyon. Perry lived in many places on the Eastern Seaboard including: Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Atlanta, Georgia, Pocomoke, Maryland, as well as Onancock, Virginia.
