Obituary for Rickey Ricardo "Rick the Ruler" Jones

RICKEY RICARDO JONES, son of Ted and Barbara Ozetta Jones, was born on May 18, 1959, in East St. Louis, Illinois, left this life for his eternal heavenly home on March 23, 2023.

RICKEY attended elementary and middle school in Illinois and relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, where he attended high school. In 1989, he relocated to the Virginia where he met his wife, Marshell. They were united in matrimony on April 26, 1989, and were blessed to have shared thirty-three years of marriage. During his Christian journey, Rickey attended and became a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church.

RICKEY was previously employed at Tyson Foods and was gainfully employed at Perdue Farms at the time of his untimely demise.

RICKEY loved music, skating, playing poker and cards, telling jokes, and entertaining those around him. His all-time favorite football team was the Tennessee Titans, and he was sure to let everyone on the Eastern Shore of Virginia know that this was his favorite team. A few of his favorite sayings were, “I came here and I came up,” and “I am the Mayor of Whitesville.”

RICKEY was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son,
brother, uncle, and friend, who will be greatly missed. We give thanks for all the wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.
