Obituary for Robert Lee "Buddy" Wilson Sr.

Robert Lee Wilson, Sr., beloved son of the late Clifton Lingo Wilson and Mildred Wilson Wise, was born on December 3, 1942 in Accomac, Virginia. He departed this life on January 23, 2021.

Robert received his education in the Philadelphia School system, where he graduated from University City High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He worked for many years at Perdue until his retirement.

Robert, also known as “Buddy,” was a quiet and loving person. He loved watching movies, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family. He especially loved vacations with his children and grandchildren. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody.

Robert was a member of Macedonia African Methodist Episcopal Church in Accomac, Virginia.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Bellamy Wilson; sisters, Deloris Nedab and Legolia “Goldie” Griffin; and son-in-law, Brian Womack.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Terry Wilson, Robert Wilson, Jr., and Natisha “Toya” Wilson, all from Philadelphia, PA; grandchildren, Devlin Wilson, Felicia Washington, Ameerah Waters, Laila Womack, and Olivia Dargan Wilson; great-grandchildren, Blake Washington and Neko Washington; sisters, Virginia Bailey, Edna Gregg, Barbara Lee, Sharone (Henry) Johnson, and Teressa Wise; brothers, James Wilson, Ronald (Lola) Dix, and Roy Wise, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
