Obituary for Russell "Bill" Dennis

Russell “Bill” Dennis departed this life on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in Salisbury, Maryland. Born on June 9, 1939 in Makemie Park, Virginia, he was preceded in death by his parents, the late John and Flossie Watson Dennis.

“Bill” received his education in the public schools of Accomack County. At an early age, he became a member of St. John’s Independent Church in Messongo, Virginia.

“Bill” was a very private man who loved to spend time with his family. He served in the United States Army and after his discharge, he also worked a number of years for different employers including: Perdue, Vernon Drewer Seafood, and Campbell Soup.

“Bill” enjoyed listening to music and putting together puzzles. Although, “Bill” is no longer with us physically, his love and memory will always be with us.

“Bill” was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie; son, Russell, Jr.; granddaughter, LuVina; five brothers, William, Rudolph, John, Jr., Roger, and Elwood; and a sister, Pauline.

“Bill” leaves to cherish his loving memories: four children, Andora (Anthony) Parker, Jessica Dennis, Antonio Dennis, all of Bridgeton, NJ, and Danny Hinmon of Hampton, VA; bonus daughters, Keisha Thornton of Salisbury, MD and April Dennis of Bridgeton, NJ; numerous grandchildren; a brother, Gralyn (Rachel) Hinmon of Accomac, VA.; three sisters, Thelma Holden of Pocomoke, MD, Diane Holden, and Alma Brim, both of Temperanceville, VA; aunt, LaRue Holden of Withams, VA; a special friend, Justine Crosby; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
