Obituary for Samuel Keynhia "Yammie" Dennis

Samuel Keynhia Dennis, the beloved son of Samuel Dennis and Vana Dennis, was born on December 2, 1986 in Nassawadox, Virginia. He departed this life and gained his heavenly wings on February 16, 2021.

“Yammie,” as he was called by family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Accomack County. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Bloxom, Virginia.

“Yammie” was a truck driver for Dennis Trucking and a member of the Rated X Motorcycle Club. He also loved drag racing, going fishing, and hunting.

“Yammie” was a gentle giant with a heart of gold. He was always willing to help anyone in need, he would literally give you the shirt off of his back. “Yammie’s” favorite past time was being surrounded by his family and friends. And you were guaranteed to laugh nonstop whenever he was around. His was truly the “Life of the Party” and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

“Yammie” was preceded in death by Lenora Burgton Dennis, Sam Parker, Ann Handy Ayres, and John Henry Ayres.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories: his daughters, Danae Dennis and Danasia Dennis; parents, Samuel Dennis and Vana Dennis; sisters, Tikisha Dennis (Jamal), Senora Dennis, Tiffany Dennis, and Kentoya Sample; brothers, Sedrick Dennis, Arren Dennis, Antoine Dennis, and Kevin Cropper; aunts, Evangeline Hickman, Rosie Brickhouse, Martha (Ross) Bailey, Sadra Bailey, Bonnie Hinmon, Mae (Monty) Davis, Shirley Lilliston, and Viola (Gregory) Williams; uncles, Barry(Vanessa) Dennis, Bruno (Annie) Dennis, Bernard Dennis, Henry (Linda) Handy, Larry (Shirley) Handy, and Donnie (Brenda) Ayres; great, great-aunt, Jackie Dennis; nephew, Jahlik Samuel; niece, Onya Dennis; godparents, Eddie Savage, Leroy Townsend, and Mitchell Townsend; and a host of cousins and friends.
