Shanetta Sharone Smith, daughter of Cecil Watts, Jr. and Willie Mae Washington, was born on March 9, 1979 in Nassawadox, Virginia. She departed this life on January 21, 2022 at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
“Neet” or “Blink,” as she was affectionately known, was educated in the public schools of Northampton County. She was employed at County Line in Exmore, Virginia for many years.
Neet was a member of New Birth Community Church in Exmore, Virginia under the leadership of Bishop E. Michael Miller.
Neet was loved by many because she had a heart of gold. She was always concerned about those close to her and was willing to help in anyway she could, no matter the circumstances. Her beautiful smile left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
Neet’s greatest joy was providing for her two children. She worked hard so that they wouldn’t want for anything. In her leisure, she loved shopping, especially at the Coach store, and eating at the Twisted Crab with her best friends, Tasha and Tonya.
Neet was preceded in death by her uncles, Issac Washington and Johnny Watts; cousin, Duval Washington; and two aunts, Margaret Lucille Watts and Linda Watts-Giddins, who was her favorite aunt.
She leaves to cherish great memories her daughter, Keona Smith of Salisbury, MD; son, Trayquan Smith of Exmore, VA; parents, Cecil Watts, Jr. of Franktown, VA and Willie Mae Washington of Exmore, VA; sisters, Casey Mapp and Maxine Ross Jones; brothers, Timothy Washington, Terrance Washington, Lamonte Washington, Mike Jones, and Tyrell Seymore; aunts, Dora Watts-Custis, Joan Ruffin, Yvonne Smith, Emma Custis, and Mary Alice Blu; uncles, Charles Watts, Steve Watts, and Charles Washington; three special friends, Tonya James, Tasha James, and Cardell Mason; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Lovingly submitted,
The Family
