Obituary for Tony "Dirty Dirt" Mason
Tony Mason was born on December 6, 1957 in Nassawadox, Virginia to the late Clarence Mason, Jr. and Dixie Handy Mason. He departed this life on October 19, 2021 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, Virginia.
Tony was educated in the public schools of Accomack County. He was employed by Lucas Underground in Melfa, Virginia.
Tony’s dedication and commitment to his family was undeniable. His presence brought love and great laughs. Tony was a staple for fatherhood for his three children and was an endearing husband to his loving wife, Beatrice Toppin Mason. He was loved and cherished by all that came in contact with him. Tony made a long-lasting impression and he will be truly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Dixie Handy, William “Billy” Mason, Arthur Handy, Lee Roy Mason, and Chester Handy.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his wife, Beatrice Mason; three children, Torrance Mason, Lakeva Mason, and Martrell Mason; three grandchildren, Tony “TJ” Mason, Winter Mason, and Cherish Handy; two sisters, Ineta McLaughlin and Alice Townsend; five brothers, Willie Mason, James Mason, Rudolph (Jackee’) Handy, Roger Mason, and Tommy (Avon) Mason; best friend, James Braxton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
