Obituary for Vincent Eugene Davis

Vincent Eugene Davis born November 3, 1951 to the late Lawrence “Bud” Stockton Davis and Margaret “Sis” Davis. He departed this life on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the Asheville VA Medical Center in Asheville, North Carolina.

Vincent attended the public schools of Accomack County. At a very early age, he was baptized at Metompkin Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir, as well as ushering alongside his friends. One thing is for certain if you had the opportunity to be in his presence for any length of time you found him to be a jokester, full of all kinds of unthinkable pranks to keep you laughing.

In 1972, Vincent served his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force until he received an honorable discharge in May 1975. Upon his return to the Eastern Shore after his years of military service, he held numerous jobs before relocating to Hampton, Virginia. Although he loved the Hampton area, he felt the need to leave Hampton and moved to Asheville, North Carolina, where he finally decided to call this his “home away from home.”

Vincent was a true and die-hard fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Anyone that knew him knew that you could not travel in his circle and say anything negative about his favorite team.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Vernice Davis Holden.

Left to cherish fond memories are his son, Raymone Eugene Davis; brother, Robert Davis (Viola) of Pocomoke City, MD; sisters, LaVerne Haynes of Madison, AL and Jacqueline Davis of Monterey Park, CA; a very special friend, Joyce Colona; special cousin, Virginia Trader; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
