Obituary for Virginia Lee "Jenny" Nock

Virginia Lee Nock, beloved wife of the late Robert Lee Nock and the daughter of the late Joseph Cecil Boggs and Mary Fannie Nock Moore, was born August 2, 1942 in Savageville, Virginia. She peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, October 24, 2021 at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, parents, eight siblings, other close family members, and special nephew, William “Bill” Nock.

Virginia “Jenny or Ginny,” as she was affectionately known to all, received her education in the Accomack County Public Schools. She was married to the late Robert “Bob” Nock. There were no children from this union, however, they raised a special niece as their daughter, Joe Ann Nock.
Virginia accepted Christ and joined Gaskins Chapel A.M.E. Church in Savageville, Virginia. She was a member of the Esther L. Beckett Women’s Missionary Society and the Lay Organization. She was an active member until her health started slowing her down.

She worked for a number of years at Holly Farm, which is currently Tyson Foods, and numerous Eastern Shore Nurseries for over twenty years.

Virginia was a very loving, kind, soft-spoken, passionate person, but also spoke out to say what was on her mind to defend herself. She loved to travel, enjoyed being in the company of other people, and she was an awesome cook. When people would ride by her house, you would see her sitting on her ramp from the rear side of her house; whereas, she enjoyed being outdoors. If she saw you riding by, you would certainly be greeted with the waving of her hand. To love her, you would have to have known her. She was special in Joe Ann’s eyes.

She loved her special niece/daughter, Joe Ann Nock, whom she loved and cared for tremendously. They were like “two peas in a pod.” When Joe Ann introduced her to her friends and associates, she introduced her as “Auntie,” therefore, other people called her “Auntie” as well. She especially loved traveling to Richmond, but she said, “I don’t like Richmond.” She enjoyed the site seeing and visits. “Auntie” will be missed by those who got to know her and those who only knew her through Joe Ann, who was also her “bodyguard”.

Virginia leaves to cherish her precious memories to her nieces, Joe Ann Nock of Richmond, VA, who was special, loving, and devoted to her, Delores Blair of Philadelphia, PA, and Geraldine Nock of Bridgeville, DE; great-nephew, Mark Nock of Salisbury, MD; and a host of nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great, great-nieces, and great, great-nephews; a devoted friend to the end, Milton Drummond; and a host of other relatives and friends. You all held a special place in her heart. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!

Lovingly submitted,
The Family
