Warren Thomas Fosque, Jr. (62), was born December 29, 1959 to the late Warren Thomas Fosque, Sr. and Josephine Savage Fosque in Modest Town, Virginia. Warren departed this life on May 18, 2022 at his residence in Horntown, Virginia, where God All Mighty saw fit to carry him from labor to eternal rest.
Warren, also known as “Pig” or “Kilowatt,'' received his education in Accomack County Public Schools. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and attended Metompkin Baptist Church in Parksley, Virginia. He attended Sunday school and sang in the youth choir. He later rededicated his life to Christ, was baptized, and became a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Horntown, Virginia.
Warren learned how to operate tractor trailers at a young age alongside his father, Warren, Sr. He acquired a passion for trucks, which led him to work in the trucking industry for over forty years. He also gained interest in horses with his father and became an avid Standardbred Harness Horse Racer, traveling to Brandywine, Maryland for numerous races. However, Warren didn’t seem to enjoy horses as much as he thought he did. One Christmas he asked for a dirt bike and got a pony. Warren loved to grill, earning him the title “The Grillmaster.” He enjoyed drag racing (John Force team), wrestling, and his favorite football team was the Philadelphia Eagles. Warren made several brags, especially with what he called the Cowgirl fans. He enjoyed joking, leaving lengthy voicemail messages, which he would go back and listen to and laugh profusely.
Warren loved his sister Ann’s baked tomatoes and sister Veronica’s apple & sweet potato pies; which he tried baking himself, adding double the ingredients. Warren enjoyed spending quality time around the yard with his neighbors, Thomas Collins, Sr., Anthony Townsend and Anthony Waters, as well as time spent with family and friends that he loved dearly.
Warren was employed by numerous trucking companies over the span of his career, including owner/operator of Fosque and Sons Trucking; more recently Warren was employed at Perdue Farms as an over the road and jockey driver. Kilowatt enjoyed talking and laughing with fellow truckers and also skip conversations when his base station was up and running. Warren took great pride in providing for his family.
On January 28, 1994, Warren was wed in holy matrimony to Betty Ann Marshall Fosque. This union was blessed with three children, Gregory, Warren, III, and Bethany.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren, Sr. and Josephine Fosque; grandparents, Radie Bailey, John Bailey, Clarence Justis, Clara Fleming, and Avery Fleming, Sr; sister, Stephanie “Pat” Wright; brother, Ricky Savage; brother-in-law, Richie Shrieves, Sr.; and a nephew, Earl T. Marshall, III “PJ.”
Warren leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife of 28 years, Betty Ann Fosque; children, Gregory, Warren, III, and Bethany; two grandchildren, Warren Fosque IV “Ivy,” and Heaven Shrieves; two sisters, Annette Rogers (Michael) and Veronica Fosque; mother and father-in-law; Earl and Hazel Marshall; brother-in-law, Earl Marshall, Jr.; three uncles, Avery Fleming, George Mason, and Victor Mason; eight aunts, Flora (Douglas) Bundick, Rose (Robert) Fletcher, Eyvonne (Darcy) Spence, Vera Ames, Connie Fosque, Renetta Fosque, Dorothy Finney, and Doris (George) Pruitt; special relatives and friends; Mersha Bailey “Mert,” Erwin Milbourne, William Watson “Poochie,” Theo Downing, Kevin Watson, Louis Tunnell, Larry Harmon, Clinton Justis (who he called bro-law), Curtis Dix, and Vernon Gunter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Lovingly and sorrowfully submitted,
The Family
